The College of Legal Practice, Professor Scott Slorach and Isabel Parker launch the Online by Design Series for Legal L&D.

The College of Legal Practice launches today a unique series of digital learning resources for L&D professionals in the Legal Sector. Titled ‘Online by Design’ – the set of articles and guides aims to explore ways to help L&D teams reimagine their learning experiences for a post-pandemic digital age.

The coronavirus pandemic, and the lockdowns experienced as a result of it over the last two years, have pushed online learning to top of everyone’s list. The College recognises that many organisations were forced into an immediate shift online, without any opportunity to reflect on the effectiveness and quality of the learning. Can learning be delivered effectively online? We think it can, but it must be online by design.

Dr Giles Proctor, CEO, The College of Legal Practice commented “We recognise the challenges and pressures facing L&D colleagues in the legal sector. Digital learning is here to stay and we believe that now is the time to start considering how it can play a crucial role in developing your legal professionals. This guide is aims to offer help, insight and opportunity to help you create an effective digital learning programme for your organisation.

We were thrilled that leading legal education course designer, Professor Scott Slorach from York Law School and Isabel Parker, Executive Director at Digital Legal Exchange collaborated to write this guide. Bringing together academic and digital legal expertise has resulted in guides that are both informed by digital transformation best practice and cutting edge approaches to developing virtual learning.”

You can access the free Online by Design Series on the College’s website.
