How we help organisations
Getting your lawyers qualified
Our courses can be tailored to meet the needs of your organisation. We provide the best platform to help your trainees qualify and progress as legal professionals. Our Developing Legal Professionals programme will both help prepare them to pass the SQE and develop the legal transactional skills and competencies they need to succeed in the industry.
Our Developing Legal Professionals programme includes two modules that prepare students to pass the SQE, timed to be delivered in alignment with the SQE schedule as set by the SRA:
- Solicitors Legal Knowledge (SLK) – preparation for the SQE1 examination
- Solicitors Legal Skills (SLS) – preparation for the SQE2 examination
In addition to SQE preparation modules, we also offer transactional skills modules across core practice areas:
- Commercial Law
- Dispute Resolution
- Banking and Finance
- Employment Law
- Personal Injury
- Commercial Property
- Family Law
- Intellectual Property
- Legal Business Skills
SQE1 preparation
- First course begins August 2021
SQE2 preparation
- First course begins from January 2022
Legal Skills Modules
- Courses begin from autumn 2021
The College of Legal Practice’s approach to learning is grounded in real-world legal practice, which makes it a perfect fit with our own training philosophy. It is important to us that its tutors are practising solicitors as they understand our needs as a firm, as well as how best to guide and support our trainees in their learning.
We work closely with The College of Legal Practice to identify the knowledge and the skills required for our trainees to succeed in the legal profession. As these requirements change and evolve, the courses will change too, meaning the time our trainees spend learning with The College of Legal Practice remains practical, valuable and relevant.
Developing Employee Skills
Becoming the best legal services professional requires knowledge, experience, and a constant drive to learn.
Designed for solicitors in their first five years of practice, working in both private practice and in-house, our Legal Services Professionals programme delivers a series of practice-focused modules to help your employees build stronger transactional, managerial and client-facing skills.
