The College of Legal Practice Providing SQE Courses to PwC Legal Middle East trainees

Published on 09 January 2023

The College of Legal Practice is pleased to welcome PwC Legal Middle East’s trainee solicitors and associates to study on its Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) programme. PwC Legal Middle East has used the opportunity of the SQE to develop its associates and support their qualification aspirations as well as providing a further route to qualification for its trainee solicitors.

PwC Legal Middle East currently has more than 70+ lawyers and legal professionals across the GCC. The firm has seen rapid growth over the last 3 years and plans to double in size in the next two years. As a modern and innovative full service law firm, PwC Legal Middle East is investing in SQE and Graduate Foundation in Law preparation courses with The College of Legal Practice for associates already working in the business, as well as trainee solicitors who join the business during the annual trainee intake. The College of Legal Practice will provide SQE preparation programmes for associates and trainees who are keen to develop their skills and obtain a professional qualification. PwC Legal Middle East was attracted to the College due to its flexible, personalised, and practical online learning design and its focus on individual supervision and support.

One of PwC Legal Middle East’s current trainees has already started studying with the College and said: “The course is very well structured, with the standout elements being the right amount of oversight and engagement as well as the exam-focused nature of the course material.”

Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of the College, said: "We are thrilled to be working with a global leader, such as PwC Legal Middle East, and are looking forward to supporting their aspiring solicitors every step of the way with their SQE preparation.”

Natalie Jones, PwC Legal Middle East, Legal Graduate Lead commented “Our trainee and junior lawyers are the future of our firm and we are delighted to be working with the College of Legal Practice to provide first class training and upskilling for them. The College of Legal Practice’s flexible, high-quality and work-oriented approach made them our natural choice and we are excited by the opportunities this provides for our team. ”

Darren Harris, Head of PwC Legal Middle East commented: “PwC Legal Middle East is committed to upskilling trainee lawyers and associates in line with our strategy to create a law firm of the future as part of our unique model of providing legal services integrated with a leading professional services firm across the Middle East. We place great emphasis on the personal and career development of our team members and this starts with our trainee lawyer programme. We are proud to work with the College of Legal Practice and look forward to further collaboration.”
