Portsmouth, Worcester, Leeds Trinity and Liverpool Hope Universities have launched new LLM programmes in collaboration with The College of Legal Practice
The legal qualification training market continues to grow, offering aspiring solicitors more choice and SQE preparation options than ever before. One increasingly popular route is the LLM in Legal Practice, which combines practical legal skills and research modules with dedicated SQE preparation. Access to Master’s Loan funding also makes these programmes an attractive option for self-funding UK-based students.
This month, four post-92 universities, the University of Portsmouth, Liverpool Hope University, the University of Worcester, and Leeds Trinity University, are launching new LLM programmes designed to support a diverse range of students, including those from non-traditional backgrounds. All four universities have chosen to collaborate with The College of Legal Practice to deliver the SQE preparation elements of their programmes. They also offer their students opportunities to gain essential Qualifying Work Experience, through local employer networks or their own law clinics.
The College of Legal Practice now partners with 12 universities, providing accredited SQE preparation modules and learning materials within their undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes.
Portsmouth Law School has launched an LLM Professional Legal Practice, designed to equip students with specialist knowledge and skills that are essential for legal practice. The LLM includes online preparation for SQE1 and SQE2 with The College of Legal Practice.
The University of Worcester’s new Master of Laws programme also begins this month and will be taught by expert lecturers from the University of Worcester, and The College of Legal Practice team:

Leeds Trinity University has also announced its new Master of Laws programme with integrated SQE preparation. The programme builds on the university’s strong reputation for delivering career-focused courses that support graduates in progressing their professional careers.

Liverpool Hope University’s practice-focused LLM with SQE preparation also launches this week, offering a distinctive, practical and purpose-driven route into the profession and providing another progression opportunity for aspiring solicitors in the Liverpool region.
